The Fancier's Attitude
First a disclaimer. We live in a free society where we can do what we want and basically say what we want. I know we have the right to say what we want to say especially in our social media accounts, I just felt a need to talk about certain attitudes of fanciers that we come to know over the years. I wrote this because I came to know one fancier na sa ikli ng panahon na nagre-race sya nakita ko lahat ng attitude that I'm about to discuss. So let's begin.
1. The First Drop Syndrome
I admit nung newbie palang ako, there's a feeling na kailangan mo ipaalam sa lahat kung gano kaaga nakauwi ng training yung kalapati mo. Admit it or not, lahat tayo guilty nyan especially when we were just starting. When I started wala pang facebook kaya lahat ng kililala I would text them "dito na kalapati ko, sabay sabay dumating, di pagod" ha ha. Right now sa facebook generation, we see that a lot. 1st drop 2nd drop etc., kung newbie ka it is acceptable pa kasi mataas pa excitement ng fancier, but I admit pag veteran na nakikita ko nag po-post ng 1st drop, my reaction is "What for? Wala namang pera sa 1st drop." Then again I'm just saying.
2. Sa Presinto Ka Magpaliwag
Sumali sa pooling, derby, na late uwi. Na cut off. Later in the day mababasa mo yung long explanation why he lost. Honestly, di naman dapat mag explain kung bakit ka natalo, and honestly speaking hindi ka naman din pinag e-explain ng tao why, kasama sa race yun. And people really don't care if you win or lose, especially if you lose. You're just opening yourself to ridicule. Sana eventually through time, experience and maturity ma overcome mo sya.
3. Nanalo Lang
Its so hard to write about this kasi ayaw ko matumbok nya na sya topic ko ha ha, so i'll try my best to be as vague as possible. Please please pag nanalo ka don't ever think you are above and beyond everybody else. When somebody wins I would like to believe that everybody is genuinely happy for you. But don't carry it around and rubbing it in. You will get the wrong impression plus the fact that your friends know where you started. They know your story, don't change that.
4. As Much As Possible Be Honest
Pag me ginawa ka na alam mo saka alam ng iba na mali ginawa mo, it will haunt you forever. Don't ruin your name, it's the only one you have.
